Per this ZDNet Blog Entry, SP1 will be rolled out the 1st quarter of 2008, with a beta testing version coming in the next few weeks.

Rumor going around is that there is already a recent build available online after it was "leaked."

Yeah there SP1 Vista beta that has leaked. It is currently in closed beta stage. I have heard good things about it so far, but I dont think it addresses them main issues like UAC that is less annoying.

Well I dont really care that its sort of delayed, although all of these "due dates" are rumors or not confirmed, or vague descriptions. I think Microsoft would have wanted to release it during the 2007 holiday season, but if it needs more time to "be ready" then they should take that time. For me Vista RC1 is working really great so far.

The latest rumor I heard (in an article through Google News) was that Vista SP1 had leaked over Bittorrent or something.

There were two things that piqued my interest in the article from PC Mag.

"Microsoft also promised increased reliability in terms of using new graphics cards, using external displays on laptops or networking-configuration scenarios, upgrading from XP to Vista, working with a variety of printer drivers, and entering or resuming from sleep mode."

"Microsoft will also release the third service pack for Windows XP in the next few weeks, but the company said it should not significantly change the XP user experience."

    Interesting. SP3.
