It will not be offered for update through Windows Update until April. Or that's what I know of.
Anyway, had it installed (Server 2008) since the 5th of February and it is great. -
If you read the link, it will be available from Windows Update on March 18. You are probably thinking about Automatic Updates that will work in the background without user intervention. Automatic Updates is indeed will only be available after April 18.

Yeah, but I don't care about that date anymore. I never cared since the 5th of February
.

what are the major additions in SP1 ??
-
Google them.

So is the SP1 i downloaded last month, any different from the one that will come out soon?
I've actually had some issues with SP1 that i installed in FEB. Some program installations will cause things to crash/go missing and i've had to use system restore on multiple ocassions. -
Noticed that the file copying is alot faster...not sure about any other revisions under the hood...

Alright, I'm too lazy to do Fade To Black's hack. Yay, I'm happy it's coming out in 4 days.
-
Awesome. 4 more days.

I have sp1 and let me say this. I don't notice that much of a difference in my usage, except that it uses much less ram. I have 3gb and pre-sp1 it would use around 55% of my ram for just firefox and outlook...now that has dropped to 40% with firefox, and outlook open.
I guess you guys are in for a treat. -
Awesome can't wait. Hopes this fixes Vista's sleep problems... Also, Ultimate SP1 isn't coming out soon, is it?
-
I like having the latest software so it's hard for me to wait for this.

Now for everyone to obtain a disc with SP1 integrated and then we'll be good to go.
I wonder if manufacturers will be handing them out to the consumer either free or with a small fee. Hmm. -

Woot! I've been trying to decide if I wanted to do the registry hack or wait, but since it'll be available in a few days, I'll just wait and get it on the official launch date.

Does it say anywhere which Pre-requisite fixes you need before you can see SP1 on windows update?
Ive skipped a 3 updates because it was crashing my computer -
I guess I have no reason to hold off on Vista any longer.
-
It's an excruciating waiting game. It come it comes (crossing fingers).

-
Oops...my bad, haha. I remember reading like four days ago so I forgot to look at the other thread and decided to post here.

You can't slipstream SP1. You will have to get a pre-built Vista SP1 copy from Microsoft.
Vista SP1 is available for general public on **MARCH 18** Confirmed!!
