It goes to sleep and wakes up properly? Do you mean it goes to sleep but does not wake up properly? If so, we need more details - do you get error messages? Does it not wake up at all?

Again, what do you mean by "wake up properly"? Do you get error messages? Does the system not wake up at all, and you have to do a hard reset?

Does it come out of sleep - do you get any video, or does the screen stay black? Do any of the laptop lights comes on? Do you hear any disk activity?

Sounds like you have some software or drivers that aren't compatible with SP1. There isn't a quick fix for this type of problem. I would start by updating drivers, and then look for software updates. You might have to disable some devices to help identify the problem maker or makers.

You should also check out HP forums, and see if others have the same problem. There might already be a fix for it.

Do you think video drivers could be the cause?
I am still using video drivers that came pre-installed.

I have no idea. It could be, or it might be some other drivers. Like I said, there isn't a quick fix. You'll have to do some work to figure out what's causing the problem.

    Good luck.

Sometimes when I put the laptop to sleep of hibernate, and unplug it, it won`t resume. It`s in Xp though.
In vista everything worked nicely. I`m guessing it`s all in the updates, maybe SP3/ Sp1 will fix the issue for both OS.
