Think VistaGlazz supports SP2 if the patching is holding you back on the visual styles.

Very nice find, running it right now. Thanks for posting.

Yeah, I know but I'm not sure if the actual visual style is supported

Might give it a shot tonight

It is worth downloading since it gives you the extra space, but I've seemed to lost almost all the space I gained even though I haven't downloaded anything new.

OK, I just started up my computer and I'm already down to 140GB. I had 142 last night. I really need to find out where this is going.
    What program should I use?

Do you think you'll be able to do a clean instal?

There is something wrong with your OS.

Unless its some obvious system function gone wrong I'm note sure it will be possible to indentify the problem.

Vista creates restore points before Updates (Ex: Windows defender defn update) and Scheduled checkpoints.

Yes, but he said he cleans out restore points - and they don't need that much space on a daily basis.
The setting for me was 15GB - on a 85GB partition...
    (I reduced it to 6 I think)

I don't think anything is wrong with my OS because all the space I've lost is only the space i gained with SP2. I had 137GB before installing SP2 so it's not like I've really lost any. It's just that whatever 30GB were freed up as part of my SP2 installation, it seems is filling back up. I'd like to find out where this space is going.

On other computer forums, many people have the same issue; they're losing the space they gained in SP2.

What program would allow me to find out where these gigs have gone recently?

I've cleared out all my System Restore points using Disk Cleanup.

The fact that the space was gone before doesn't mean its normal.

Disk Cleanup doesn't delete all the restore points, but leaves the most recent intact. Turn system restore OFF, Click apply and then turn it back ON to delete all restore points and see how much space is free in your HD.

I noticed no changes or improvments at all, and it looks as if I lost lots of hard drive space, it's now 49.7 GB free of 137 GB.

After I installed Service Pack 2 some how my firefox seems to be slower than Internet Excplorer 8.
