Is there a way to take the Notification area and move it to the sidebar and off of the Taskbar?

Also, is there a way to place gadgets anywhere on the sidebar? Right now all the gadgets start at the top and I would like some to be on top and some on the bottom but I don't use enough to fill the entire sidebar.

Not that I know of. I admit that that would be a good idea though. You can always choose to hide the icons there.- Right click blank space in notification area-choose "customize notification icons"

yeah I know I can hide them but i was hoping that I could just move them. While I rarely use them the icons are useful for some things and I don't want to completely get rid of them
