AVG Internet Security does not appear even though the Free version and the Pro version do.

I have just purchased a second license for my new laptop running Windows Vista having used the program very successfully on XP for years.

As soon as I install AVG the laptop will not boot up properly. I get the welcome screen and then the black screen and nothing happens.

If I fiddle with safe mode I can sometimes get the laptop to boot up properly but aften not at all.

Any suggestions other than to try a different Virus checker/ firewall and if so, which one?
