I'm doing some data entry so I configured the built in speech recognition for the first time. I'm using a program called EpiData and it recognizes what I say perfectly BUT for some reason it started delaying the entry of the words I say!
Initially, for the first 4-5 minutes or so I could say "one, one, one, one, one" and it would enter all of them. Now if I say those quickly and don't wait for the first one to be entered, it doesn't register the rest.
What annoys me is that it worked before but something happened and I didn't do anything!! It's not supposed to be like this. Is there an option somewhere to change this and make it as if I'd be pressing the 1 on the keyboard?
Also, when I enter post codes, say for example HG328DH it enters it as HG 32 8 DH. Anyone know how I can train it to enter it without space? But yeah, the first question is more important and problematic because it takes 3 times as long to enter the data now than if I'd use the keyboard and that's not the point of this software.

OS? if Vista, you might want to try it under XP compatibility mode

"Compatibility cannot be set for this program because it is for this version of windows".
Yep, I'm running Vista.

Someone at work mentioned about the SKIP and FILL rules when handling lag. Can you verify that and post what your set up is?
cheers ... -
What do you mean SKIP and FILL? Maybe I'll start looking for another simple voice recognition problem because I just need it to recognize the numbers, tab and "press up" to do my job properly, and of course fill in everything without delay.
Thanks for your help so far! Maybe there's something I can do you could recommend? -
If you have Vista, why don't you give the Windows Built-In speech recognition a shot?
cheers ...
