Hello,
I have a Cruzer USB drive that I use to transport assorted work files and docs to and from the office PC. I'd like to use sync center to sync the files with my lappy.
Upon startup, however Sync center wants to think that Im snyncing music or media files and wants to snych thru media center. I just want to snych with a specified folder on my hard drive that I create.
Is there any way to get sync center to recognize my thumb drive as multiple files/documents and/or set my own target destination snych folder?
I have used MS sync toy sucessfully, but hey, if I dont have to install it....

I could be wrong, but I was under the impression that Vista Sync was for syncing mobile devices, replacing the ActiveSync tool. I use it for syncing my smartphone, but don't recall seeing any options for just syncing folders.
I use SyncToy for folder synchronization, and it works quite well for USB key syncing on Vista. I think it would be the preferred option for what you want to do. -
Thanks, that is what is what I will probably wind up doing. Its no big deal to install sync toy and It works beautifully.
I never had the impression that sync center was expressly for mobile/media devices but I guess that is the case. maybe I'll expremiment with hooking up my blackberry to it and see what happens.
It just would have been nice for Vista to have a more robust, all-encompassing synch utility.... -
AFAIK Vista Sync will only sync Windows OS mobile devices, not Blackberry OS. For that you'll need to install the Blackberry sync client.

I checked it out before and true, it does not sync blackberry data. ...so it seems that snyc center is only good for windows OS smart phones or for both people who went out and bought a zune...
