I have reinstalled Vista and forgotten the one tweak that is the most beneficial at bootup; its also the most hidden.
It requires disabling one of the services so that they wont search for a secondary monitor on startup.
The tweak gets rid of the "blank screen" when you first start Vista which occurs for a second or two.
Can anyone remember this??? Its worth a thousand thank yous!!!!

1. Click on the Start button(Orb).
2. Go to Task Scheduler in all programs -> accessories -> system tools.
3. On the left-hand side, click "Task Scheduler Local" (you should already be there, but just in case).
4. Expand "Task Scheduler Library," then "Microsoft," then "Windows," then click "MobilePC."
5. Up top, you'll see a task called "TMM." Click it, and on the right-hand side, click "Disable."
6. You're done.
This information came from this thread. Hope this is what you were looking for -
