I've just bought a HP8710w with XP built in for my client.

He wants to have Windows Ultimate installed on it (I bought that too).

Is there anything I should take note of before installing?

I know that the XP is on a seperate drive witht the drivers.

If I reinstall Vista, will I then be able to find the drivers at the computer or can I go online?

    :)

When you ordered the HP, does the model offer Vista as an alternative? if so, then just go to HP drivers section and download the vista drivers for the HP8710w. If that model only supports XP, then you'll probably have to gather the info on every component and google them for Vista drivers.

If all else fails, you can still force install the XP driver ini files with vista driver update.

You should have Vista drivers available, the 8710w I recently worked on came with Vista installed.

The 8710w has drivers for both XP and Vista, available here.
