I've installed all of the updates that apply to my machine and some are pretty useful. I, along with most people, suspect they're going to be included in Vista's 1st Service Pack. Oddly they're not in Windows Update as of the date of this post. Get the first 3 regardless of your machine, and the fourth one if you run a DirectX 10 SLI/CrossFire system running.

[Note: they aren't yet in WU because they've not passed Msoft's testing yet...]

They aren't in WU yet because they haven't been tested for full compatibility and tests are still ongoing. Same as a hotfix in XP...not done testing yet.

Good call Greg... guess my brain's on coast for the weekend. Runs completely stable on an ASUS A8Js for those interested.

An update on the four recomended updates:

KB938194: appeared in Windows Update this past Tuesday
KB938979: appeared in Windows Update this past Tuesday
KB940105: still not on Windows Update - seems to be directed toward gamers, but with the description of how it affects virtualization of Video memory I wonder if it might also affect Virtual PC's use of video memory as well???
KB936710: still not on Windows Update - only applicable to folks with two Video cards.
