    Hi guys

I have a set of Sony DR BT22 bluetooth headphones and while they work great in Vista I'm kinda annoyed with the way you have to set them up.

Currently each time I turn on my notebook (Asus M70VM) I have to remove the headphones from the list of devices in the bluetooth devices window and then add them in again to get them to connect.

Is there anyway to get Vista to automatically connect once I put the headphones in the correct mode?

Thanks in advance for any help/advice on this. :)

Can you try using your headphones on another computer with a different OS to see if you have the same problem? I would try using the manual to troubleshoot, but it doesn't even reference using the headphones with a computer.

Manual = about as helpful as a rash on your backside...

I do have a different OS, XP on the same laptop but I can't get that to give me the options for audio...

And I don't have another bluetooth capable computer...

It's not too much of a problem, just an annoyance. I've got it now so I just click on the bluetooth icon, go to the bluetooth settings, then the audio tab and connect.

Took me a while to work out that's what I have to do rather than remove/pair the device each time .

Still rather annoying but the headphones work great in Vista just a shame the they don't auto connect and a shame I only use Vista for watching TV/web surfing and dvd watching. If I could get the bluetooth audio working in XP I'd be well happy... (I've opened a thread in the Asus section if anyone would be kind enough to offer some advice.)

Thanks for the advice anyway kegobeer. :)

Do you have similar problems when pairing your headphones to other bluetooth devices (cell phone, etc)? If not, then it's definitely an issue with the handshake between the computer and the headphones. Hopefully you will find someone who has solved the issue and will share the fix with you. I have a feeling that it might be a problem that can't be fixed.

you might want to give the update to the bluetooth stack for vista a try:

    First post.

    or:

Er I don't think it's a toshiba stack. It's got Widcomm software installed (at least that's what it tells me in the add/remove programs list).

Besides they (Toshiba drivers) have a license which runs out after 30 days.

Thanks for the advice though. :)

Ah thanks ghn. I did try that however but it doesn't work. It tells me that no bluetooth device was detected!?!

The add/remove programs list (or Programs and Features if want to use the new name) tells me I have Widcomm Bluetooth Software v5.2.0.500.

I turned the bluetooth on and off via the switch, even connected the bluetooth headphones to make sure it was on but still the update won't work.

I think as I don't use Vista all that much, and I have the headphones working much better in XP (they autoconnect for a start and it's a hell of a lot quicker, at the moment I have to keep removing/pairing in Vista every time I restart the laptop!) I will just leave it as is...

...but if anyone has any further suggestions on this please post. Thanks. :)
