    Vista and Win7

    I have 2 hp g60 laptops. One has vista the other one has win7. Laptop with win7 dropped and damaged screen etc. I want to remove the hard disk with win7 and install it to laptop with vista. Can I do it without any problems, if I can how? Thanks for your help

    If they are exactly identical in parts configuration then yes it shouldn't be a problem even if the motherboard has a different serial number. Windows activation looks for several parts changes and configurations and decides if you'll need to reactivate.

    The only way to find out is to change out the hard drive and check to see if Windows 7 remains activated. If not, try to activate it and if it doesn't activate you can call Microsoft and explained what happened. They may activate it for you although OEM keys are tied to the hardware which is the benefit to having the retail version. It can be switched to another system.
