Are there issues with using your cell phone to tether using vista? I know it works with XP but have heard conflicting reports about vista. I just got Vista Vaio today and am hoping to get the cable for the phone in a day or 2 and am hoping to get on the net. Has anyone done this yet? Please any info. on this would be great. Thanks

it varies depending on your phone, and if it is vista compatible (with drivers and such)

I have the new Razr2 V9m. Do you know where I would get the drivers if it won't work?

tried motorola or motorola.developer sites? they should be ur first (main) source of ur phone utilties and drivers. Trick is to get vista to recognise ur device - u can use in many instances a device driver of an older model (or any other devices - this explains also why older laptop models have had better chance to get vista working correctly at first trial). Not all newer models have submitted to vista device database on time.

    cheers ...

If the drivers for data cable do not work, you should try connecting the two with Bluetooth, it will work.
And you are talking about GPRS, right?

i couldn't figure out in vista how to tether my bluetooth phone via bluetooth to get my laptop online.
for some reason i would keep setting up vista in a way where it would always want to connect to a phones dial-out modem.

I don't understand that clearly, I think I can help if you could elaborate.

When I used to use my cell phone to connect my laptop to the Internet I got the cable and software from Sprint, does it not go like that with other company's?

Tethering works perfect for me over bluetooth on vista. I haven't tried tethering with a usb cord because i get decent speed over bluetooth.
