    Vista and the File transfer problem

    Been hearing stories of how Vista takes a long time in transferring files from external HDD. In fact, it takes a long time just estimating the time required to do so!!!

    Is this bug fixed? :(

    I don't think there is such a bug. If you are saying that Vista is slower, this is possible since Vista consumes far more system resources than XP.

    Totally depends on the computer. Many people you ask will say that Vista runs faster when many programs are running. This is because of the more advanced resource management.

    I haven't had a problem transferring to or from an external HD.

    Vista does transfer files a lot slower on single core machines via USB than XP.

    If you read the entire post and not just the subject line it was refuted and dismissed by several other posters and explained by the OP. It's a Kaspersky issue, and not Vista.

    i had a similar problem. Mine is file transfer between computers in a wireless network. I solved it with the help from this site: http://www.tweakvista.eu/show_tweak.php?tweak=118


    you guys can try if this will work on external HDD transfers. hope it helps
