Microsoft obviously cares not a whit about those of us who were foolish enough to give Vista a try. There are things I like about the OS but it didn't include any audio drivers and I can't find any that work. I am frustrated as hell about this!

Anybody out there have any solutions?

    Um.... ?

You might start by telling us which sound card you have. (Or even better, you could look at the manufacturer's website for drivers)

Second, you could try blaming the sound card manufacturers for not making a Vista driver.

Microsoft just write the OS. It's not their job to write drivers for other companies' hardware. :)

And third, you could wait for Vista to be released. By then it'll have final, released drivers and everything. :)

If you have a driver/application or Recovery CD that came with your laptop, put the disc in and have Vista search it for your audio drivers. Even though they are XP drivers, it may still work under Vista. This is what I had to do for RC1, and it found the audio driver without problem. As for RC2, Vista had a native driver for my audio but it is lousy. I get nothing but stuttering sound in games like NFS:MW....(updating the driver did not help).

Total OT: Glad to see a Mute Math fan posting!

You shouldn't put the blame on Microsoft. There are numerous devices under Windows XP which do not have native drivers. Most of the time it is up to the device manufactures to supply drivers. I would suggest looking for the drivers for your sound card or whatever you have from the manufacture’s website. Also posting a little more info like Jalf asked for helps us give you better advice.
