Is there anything out there that can trace what occurs during a Vista boot? I know about the Event Viewer, but it doesn't show the level of detail I need.

What I've noticed is that after a few days of using a clean install, my boot speed slows down. No additional startup apps or services have been installed. All of the slowdown occurs between the BIOS and the green 'status' bar. On a fresh install, it transitions pretty much instantly. After using it for a few days, it takes 10-12 seconds of hard drive activity before the status bar shows. I've cleaned out the prefetch folder, but it makes no difference.

I'd like to know what's occurring during that 10-12 seconds of hard drive trash. How can I trace what's going on?
