Has anyone timed XP Pro vs. Vista RC2 bootups? How many seconds till the login screen appears?

when i booted RC2, to the loading screen for login is about the same as xp on my asus a8jm, but loading the actual windows bits takes longer in vista, as there is simply more stuff (widgets, etc)

I haven't actually timed booting to the welcome screen in Vista RTM, but on my system at least, it is definitely faster than XP MCE. Going from Welcome screen to desktop is incredibly fast in Vista compared to XP. In general, with 2 GB or more of RAM Vista outperforms XP both at boot and in use. With 1 GB of RAM, they perform about equally. With 512 MB of RAM Vista will load and perform worse than XP.
