I don't know how many people here experience this with vista, but I have seen a lot of topics on it online. Many vista users seem to experience a "Calculating time remaining" bug when copying large files in windows explorer. unnecessarily, Vista shows the calculating time remaining message in the file transfer window for a prolonged period of time and it ends up slowing down the transfer. Is there a possible tweak to vista to get rid of the slowdown?

Interesting. When I try to download the 32-bit package, I get past validation, but prior to the installation it says this update does not apply to your system.

Odd. I noticed that I've had this hotfix installed since Aug 8th, but MS has the release date of 9/11. Do I have an obsolete version, and do you think I should just install this newest one?

BTW, File transfer speed in Windows Explorer is miserable for me as well.

That hotfix now available thru vista auto-update :)

BTW Vista still lags when moving large file
