I have had Vista (Ultimate 32-bit) installed on my desktop since November 2006 as got RTM through my work..... it's still installed as never felt the need to go back to XP.

I do have an XP box for backup incase there were problems with software... and there was, however I haven't used it now for 4-5 months as all the problems have dissapeared.

XP will never look as nice as Vista.

I say get Vista and if you want the best get Vista 64!

I actually really like Vista. I hated it at first, but now I really grew to like it.

Microsoft clearly doesn't like Vista. They are already working on Windows 7.

I think many problems are on the old pcs being upgraded and the old hardware and software. Not so say that there are no problems on the me systems etc... I usually buy my pcs after the new o/s is released that way it should ..should all play well together. Did it for xp and vista...the one time I did install xp on an old rig and it chugged...

Well, if that is true, then that means when Intel releases a new chip, they immediately hate it and begin on their new ones. So that's obviously false.

Exactly what I said. Microsoft knows they made a crappy OS, that's why they immediately started working on Windows 7.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a Vista user, and it has sort of grew on to me; I like it. But we know it can be better.

No, that's not true. They don't think Vista is a failure because people buy it (whether they want it or not), so you're not making a point. They are working on Windows 7 because they have to and because it takes a lot of time to program an OS.

They may or may not think Vista is a crappy OS, but that has nothing to do with why they immediately started working on Windows 7.

Windows development is constant, just like with most major software products. They just take certain cutoff points and make product releases out of them. So they're always working on the next thing even before the current one is released.
