    Vista highlighting color

    How can I make highlighted icons darker? The color is a very light skyblue that looks almost white and blends into the white background. Especially when highlighting items in the start menu.

    Selected items in appearence settings -> advanced doesn't seem to do anything.

    from what i've read you can't unless using the Windows Classic appearance. I read some posts of people saying that turning on "show check boxes for select items", or something like that, under folder options helped. But i didn't see much difference when i tried it.

    Wah, I wonder why it is like that. I've tried the show check boxes but it doesn't really help.
