    Here's the low down on my problem;

    I bought a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo xi1546 about a year ago which came with Windows MCE 2005 pre-installed. I despised this problematic notebook and managed to get a full refund one year after purchase (lucky me :D )

    Before I decided to get a refund I mailed a coupon that gave buyers of said notebook a free version of Windows Vista Home Premium. This free copy comes with it's own license key. This is what the text on the DVD says:

    "Microsoft
    Windows Vista Home Premium Express Upgrade

    This disc only contains 32 bit software.

    Only to be used for upgrading computers from Fujitsu Siemens Computers."

    My question is if it is possible to install this OS version on a Fujitsu desktop computer? Remember this is not a OEM disc per se but an upgrade disc.

    Thanks.

    you can use it on anything you want but being a oem upgrade it would according to the eula be locked to that machine after that there is a trick to using the upgrade for a clean install as well...i cannot post that though. google is your freind

    So you mean that if I wanted to do an upgrade I would run into problems but I could bypass them if I did a clean install? I know how to do a clean install with a n upgrade DVD, so no problem there ;)

    Since this is against the EULA, discussion on this topic is over.

    Install Linux if you want something shiny for free, that doesn't include DRM or any kind of locks
