Hi,
Was in the library and ran a TCP/IP fix from Softpedia: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Network-Tweak/TCP-IP-Limit-AutoPatch.shtml
it said its for Vista... but after installing it the system is not booting and causing Persistent BSOD's even in safe mode.
entire OS is just not Loading and laptop is getting BSOD's.
What can i do?
I can go home and connect the laptop HD via USB to another laptop.
but how do i undo the TCP/IP change?

Dang, no bueno... =(
Have you tried popping in the Vista CD and doing a repair?
Have you tried searching the BSOD's stop code? Occasionally that sheds some light. Good luck though, if I think of anything, I'll let you know. -
System Restore

I Fixed the Problem.
I am a Genius!
I did a surgery on my laptop.
Took out the Hardrive, used SATA to USB on Dad's laptop... edited the path of the .Bat file for the TCP/IP UNDO patch.
Copied the Sony vaio's TCPIP.SYS in Patch folder and using the bat moved it to my Windows/system32/drivers/tcpip.sys.
and ya i fixed it ...
little bit of programming + some hardware stuff.
As usual i ignored the usual reply that 'Reinstall OS'.
most of the problems i have fixed myself on this forum.
and i have NEVER needed to re-install my OS or lose any data.
anyway.
thanks for encouraging me to do it myself. -
Glad we could 'motivate' you -
Neither of those answers meant reinstall the OS, don't be so pissy. The Vista CD offers a repair installation option, it doesn't reinstall the OS. Previous Windows versions offered the repair console which gave access to a DOS prompt and some repair tools. System restore refers to restore points that Windows automatically creates when you do major software changes (and which you can do yourself). Loading the last good restore point would have undone your changes.

As always, it's quite amusing to see such resolved threads deteriorate into such fruitless squabble...
