I extracted an ISO via WinRAR onto the desktop. And after extraction, the space is taken, but the ISO is missing. I tried searching. What's going on? =(

Too many icons on the desktop! :p

You have extracted the ISO from a RAR file on the desktop?

You probably extracted to the temporary folder instead of saving it on to the desktop

Lol. I just got this laptop so the desktop is bare! =P

And ya, I extracted it onto the desktop. I`m doing it again, but in a folder, see if that works.

But that still doesn`t help my HDD space =(

edit: If it was in the temp, how would I access it

If you right-click on the RAR file and select "Extract here" you'll know where the file really is...

Extracting it into a folder works. Any idea where the previous ISOs went?

What method have you used to extract it the first time?

Drag and drop to the desktop

Did the same with the folder.

Really, it should be on the desktop...rearrange the icons.

Vista likes to hid icons on me once in a blue moon, the file is there but the icons dont update. Logging off and back on should probably fix it.

Try to do a search on all files created when you extracted those files. It might help you locate where those files went.
