Every time i restart my laptop vista automatically switches the power options from high performance to power saver, even though before the restart it was set to high performance. Also when i unplug my laptop it does the same thing. It was not doing this before, but now it seems to do this every time. I'm running vista ultimate x86 w/ SP1.

Have you looked at power options for battery and when plugged in? Or as my friend says 'smash it' although this never seems to work. lol

I heard the same complaint from my wife, until I mentioned to her that I had installed an application that was automatically switching the power option (although you could choose what power option you wanted on a/c or battery).

    Vista Battery Saver.

I already checked the options for the battery and it shouldn't change the power options when i restart. The only app i have that might switch the power options is RMClock but i have had that running for the longest time and had no issues with it.
