    Glad to see a review.

I myself didn't notice any difference already having 2GB RAM and using a 1GB USB for Readyboost.

I guess as shown in the charts, the difference is in the long run with good amount of RAM and more instant with about 512mb RAM.

I played with readyboost for about 2 weeks.

It can have a big impact for systems with slow hard drives, such as the 4200 rpm in your sig, but thats about it. I cant see a difference at all on my desktop, though my slowest component is my cpu at 5.0, which is kind of surprising as its an AMD 64x2 3800 clocked at 2.5ghz,in benchmarking I outscore stock 4800 x2's.

my sys: 1.5gb ram & 2gb usb stick

watching dvd, burning cd/dvd and working on cad (freehand in my case) do have performance gain using vista.readyboost

the rest sees no difference so far

    cheers ...

My laptop will have 2GB DDR2 RAM onboard, and my HD will run at 5,400 rpm, and is not SATA. Would it be worth my while to acquire a 1/2GB USB flash disk/card for ReadyBoost/SuperFetch puposes? Will I notice any improvement in performance?

ur sys is quite robust for vista performance, but as mentioned, if u burn dvd/cd and doing cad works (or graphic related) then i would suggest playing with ready.boost, before commit to invest

but - a big BUT - any stick less than 2 gb is worthless. i tested with 512mb, 1gb, 2gb and 4gb. 4gb=waste, 2gb=perfect so far for my sys, 512mb&1gb=nada

    cheers ...
