Anyone else find that their gadgets are moving positions after a reboot? Is there a way to lock the positions?

Also, is there a way to make the sidebar remain on the desktop after pressing the "show desktop" button on the quick launch bar? I don't like the gadgets in the undocked position which seem to be the only way to make this happen.

Click the SideBar icon in the system tray and it will reappear.

If you right click on the tray icon and hit "Properties" then you can check an option for the sidebar to always be on top.

I don't want it to be always on top. Just there when I click show desktop. If its always on top then it uses up screen space and you can't maximise your programs fully.

No, there is no way that I have found. Welcome to Microsoft V1 software. Do Opera gadgets stay put?

Vista SideBar is probably multi-threaded and the gadgets not start-up sequenced nor the gadgets fixed positionally, so they appear in the order they complete initialization.

However, if you place them off the sidebar, onto the desktop, they also move around, so that is a different problem.
