I have 2 Dell Vostro 1400 on my hand, as one of them is a replacement.
The old got slow internet problem, the internet stop for 1 min every 3-5min. Did a sxxx load of reseach and couldn't fix it.
I connected my new laptop to the wireless network and test it, the download was as smooth as silk, averaging 150kb/s (I am living in a crap student hall in UK which's got 1.5mb connection).
Then I download the same file with both computers, when the old one stopped, the new one stopped at the same time!
Without the old one connected, the new old has no problems.
So obvioulsy there's some problem between the old laptop with the router, and that can cause other computer connected with the same network got problem......... bloody strange that.![]()
Same computer model, same network adapter, same OS tell me what's going on!![]()

Are there any entries in the Event Viewer?
Barring any Spyware/Virus/etc involvment, I would expect this is either a misconfigured or defective network card. -
Sorry don't know what you are talking about, I didn't install much thing at the old laptop, just word, PS, msn and I didn't set anything yet.
The only difference between 2 machines are the DVD rom and HD which's made by different manufacturer.
From what I read in the web a lot of people got slow internet or even dead with Vista, lots of solution work for some people but not for others. I have no idea why it's no problem as the new one. -
