I recently set my taskbar set up vertically on the right, im also using a custom msstyle...
for some reason whenever i play a fullscreen game it messes up the width when i come back, it goes like 1/4 way across the screen... and i have to fix it... sometimes i have to change themes in order to fix it
also before there appeared to be a limit where it wouldnt let me go lower than 86 pixels wide (1366 pixels total)... this was perfect because it gave me a 1280 wide desktop , and it made adjusting really easy - all i had to do was drag it to the minimum... but ever since playing the fullscreen game, the restriction is gone, i can drag it so that it becomes really really thin, which is kind of annoying...
anyone know why its like this?

Try Locking the Taskbar.

if the above doesn't work, try a normal style instead of a custom one.

taskbar is locked...
i just tried the default taskbar and the same thing happens...
maybe just bad design on vistas part... -
But My Taskbar is on the bottom. -
yeah i have a feeling that maybe making the taskbar work on the side was more of an afterthought for the designers

interesting..
the 86px limit i was talking about is back after numerous restarts
seems like the only solution is to move the taskbar back down when playing games...
Vista taskbar messed up when fullscreen gaming
