My new notebook came today and it was Vista installed!I searched around, tried to find out how can i install XP over Vista and found out by notebookreview users!(big thanks for it)

But now i'm confused about 1 thing which is drivers!I checked my notebook page and found out all drivers are for Vista 31 and 64 bit!

So i'm just wondering how did you solve this problem?

PS:I'm asking this because nobody told me that first i better check for xp drivers for my notebook! So i start to think maybe there is a way for that too! What should i do now?

What you should do now is tell us what notebook you have first.

From the sounds of it, your manufacturer no longer supports XP for your notebook

That depends on if you need XP badly enough to go through all of this for it.

I think i will replace it with dell M1530(i saw there is a nice thread at Dell with all informations about how to install XP) Asus seems not caring with the drivers!

You might try posting this in the Asus forum first - there's a decent chance that there's someone who frequents that forum who has put XP on a G1S.

The XP not recognizing the hard drive problem is due to a problem with XP SP2 and SATA hard drives. As far as I know it only affects XP SP2 retail or non-manufacturer OEM discs. You ought to be able to find a solution to that by searching for "XP install SATA" or something similar - though to make XP run decently you will need drivers.

If you do decide to switch, note that Dell doesn't actually have XPS 1530 XP drivers on their site (U.S. or Danish), so you'll have to follow the guides on NBR. They do have XP drivers for the Inspiron 1720, however, which is nearly as powerful, here on Dell Denmark.

You have to go into your BIOS and change the SATA setting to "Compatibility" mode, after that, the XP CD will see your HDD. Then change it back to "ACHI" mode after XP and the SATA driver is installed is installed.

search for nLite software and learn how to use it. It will create a new bootable cd of XP for you with SATA drivers. You can safely use that to install XP and your laptop will detect the HD then, for sure.
