Could you advice a good utility program that disables unneeded and resocure draining features of Vista?

Vista only needs littel tweaking - it optimizes itself.

The only thing worthwile in Vista is getting rid of thngs like - Java Updater, Quicktime, Adobe Quickstart from automatic start - this can be done via CCleaner or msconfig (PS: its often best just to untick the entry and keeping i rather than deleting, what CCleaner can do)

I'd use the sticky posted a couple of replies above, get rid of all of the unwanted start up junk, and just keep to a regular maintenance schedule (CCleaner, virus scans and getting rid of unwanted clutter), should keep to OS nice and fresh.
