Need a little help - have a Dell 1640 w/ 128 GB Samsung SSD showing up in a few days - looking for tweaks to optimize Vista specifically for SSDs. I've seen a few references to disabling defrag, turning off disk indexing, and using ramdisks for heavy write applications such as browser caches and Outlook. Anything else?

Any help in pointing to SSD tweak resources would be much appreciated. Thanks

There's not much you can really do.

It'll be nice and snappy anyway!

    disable indexing
    disable superfetch
disable auto defrag (vista does this in the background)

    Thanks all.

I downloaded the Win7 Beta but frankly a little scared that it all goes away this June/July requiring a fresh install once product is launched. Does Win7 optimize for SSDs?
