hi! im gonna buy a new laptop soon (dell inspiron 6400) but i need to know what os to get, vista or xp. Ive heard vista is really bad, but i think that microsoft will work out the bugs eventually. Also, if i did get vista, are the 32 bit versions and 64 bit versions on the same CD? because it doesnt specify what quantity of bits u get on the dell website. Alternatively, i could always go with a macbook.

Thx everyone, peace out to the world.

the cds that dell supplies along with their notebooks are always 32-bit and NOT 64 bit yes vita has been having many compatibility issues lately but if you really need it or not depends on you i personally have heard many horrors stories here on the forums itself i would suggest waiting till microsoft releases the first servce pack for vista so that by then all the bugs will be fixed

have u done any researches on ur own? ;)

other than the current not yet.up.to.par drivers from device manufacturers & some getting.used to, i personally have not experienced any thing from vista that can be considering as a "bug"

i heard that only ultimate is being shipped with 32/64 bits inclusive - could be wrong

    :)

    cheers ...
