Ever since I added in a Dell 355 Bluetooth module and turned on bluetooth, sometimes my laptop would wake it self up from sleep mode after being in sleep for a long time. It wakes up into some weird blank screen state and I have to shut it down by holding down the power button.

So anyone have any ideas whats wrong.
I'm using the most update drivers for everything by the way with Vista Home Premium.

By any chance does this bluetooth device have a power management tab when you view it's properties inside of device manager? If so then look on that tab and un-select "allow this device to wake the computer" and see if that helps. If that isn't then maybe you can check your power management settings in the control panel.

I'm having the same problem, but not with bluetooth. It happened after I installed the WiFi card. The only problem is, I haven't installed the drivers for the card yet, they do not exist on the system, therefore the only problem I can foretell is that it reads that the card is there, but doesn't know what to do with it. I'll be downloading the drivers in the next couple of days from the intel website, but I figured I would mention this. It may be a reacuring problem with anything wireless that is installed after the initial boot of windows.

I'll update you on what's going on with it after I do this. I'm busy with work on my off-time so it'll be a few days.

Lenovo T61s had this problem with a video driver. Maybe it's your video driver.

If you have not yet tried the patches mentioned here, then I suggest you do so. They fix a multitude of problems.
