This is a weird problem I've been trying to fix for some time.
Basically, I burn data/mp3/iso to a DVD with a program like Nero or InfraRecorder. The burn is successful, and I can read the DVD in other computers (XP systems) without a problem. But whenever I try and load the disk in my own computer, Vista sees the disk, sees the data (as in it says 1.32gb of 4.37gb free), but refuses to open it. It instead always asks if I want to format the disk and burn data to it using the Vista burning software.
Has anyone else run into this, or know of a way to disable the built in software?

Did you burn the DVD on Vista?

I don't have any problems.
Something is not right though. When you burn something to a DVD, even if it's only 1GB, you should have 0 bytes free after.... -
Yeah these are disks I burned on my own system. Sorry, I should have specified about the space...with a normal CDR or DVDR it does indeed show 0 bytes free, but with my DVDRW which I burned using Vista's default program, it shows space free and actually works.
But I don't want to use the default Vista burnerAnd I'd like to be able to read my own DVDRs after burning :|
edit: so basically:
I can burn a disk with my Vista system using Nero/InfraRecorder. Other Windows XP based systems can read the disk fine. When I put a disk into my system however, burned with my computer or any other, it always asks me to format the disk and start a new "live file system", as if the disk is blank. But it's not. Vista even shows the disk as full.
edit2: As a temporary solution I was able to force-disable Vista's built in burning functionality, and now I can access all my disks. F U VISTA!!!!!!!!!!!
Vista won't recognize burned DVDs
