    Vista won't show login screen to finish booting...

    i just deleted my Windows XP partition and updated GRUB from Ubuntu, but now when Windows starts, I get to the screen where the login prompt would display, but it won't display and i can't login.

    help!

    i got into safe mode and things got kind of interesting.

    looks like vista was drive E and XP was drive C. for some reason some of the startup things point to C instead of E.

    i don't get how this could have happened since XP and Vista were two separate installations on two different partitions.

    how can i fix this without a reinstall?
