I made an error in an earlier post about programs not working with x64. I have now done a second fresh install of x64 on my HP dv9700t CTO and have to say even my old games like the original Empire Earth and C&C First decade work great. The only program that no longer works is SM 7 and I really don't care.

I apoligize for the uproar I caused in my previous post.

On the street, yes. In bed though....! :)

Seriously, I hope all works out well for you re: x64, like it did with me! :D I haven't formatted since December, which was the first time I ever used x64 (this install). SP1 will be out any moment now, and I've downloaded the latest versions of all my softwares like Winamp, K-Lite, CCleaner, SpyBot S&D etc etc. So I'll try out different new x64 softwares now, first hand, and then the ones which works the best, I'll install it after the format.

At least you gave it another shot. Most people just give up on x64 and... vista altogether and run back to xp

I usually give the benefit of a doubt if the first or second installation doesn't work. I love the challenge of how to make it work.
