This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Vista x64: Hanging on restart.

    Sometimes my computer hangs when it is restarting. It hangs between the BIOS loading screen and the "Microsoft Corporation" screen. It hangs with the following in the upper left-hand side... blinking continuously, but never going anywhere (even after 10 minutes). It does this when there are automatic restarts from updates/installations AND from my own restarts.
