Shortly after installing xp32 (dual boot), My vista64 started BSOD'n, It ask me to update to resolve problem but it also BSOD shortly after the first update installation. So I did it manually in safe mode which when well. It still BSOD on me after that so I stripped down my computer to the motherboard thinking maybe it's the videocard and other devices, no luck. Anybody experienced the same problem? I havent had the chance to diagnos my hardware but Im pretty sure its the OS cause my XP is working fine. I dont want the option of having only XP.

possible mess up during the installation? Check the graphics card driver, thats usually where the problems are.

I tried booting without the graphic card the BSOD was still there, and trust me I've tried so many times using vista repair. Bios update errr, too scared that i might brick my mobo.

    edit:
I believe I installed the proper sata drivers and shortly after installing it I updated it using an updated version @ asus website.

    Install XP first.

Are you using a bootloader or you choose which HDD to boot from with the esc/f8/f11 key? If you're using a bootloader, you had to tweak something right? might be that.

I boot the HDD that have XP first then the vista HDD. My PC could get as far as the os boot option but couple minutes after I log in vista the blue screen pop-ups. BSOD goes away really quickly to restart so I could bearly read the whole thing, I assume vista states the BSOD problem in the problem/solution apps.

    Vista is telling me this:
"Files that help describe the problem:
c:\windows\minidump\mini030508-17.dmp [Im guess the last two digit is a counter meaning it BSOD 17 times]
    c:\users\....\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-46082-0.sysdata.xml
    c:\users\....\AppData\Local\Temp\WER11AC.tmp.version.txt"

Dont really know much about the first two files but the last one only contains this.

windows NT version 6.0 build: 6000
product (0x3): Windows Vista (TM) Home Premium
    Edition: HomePremium
    BuildString: 6000.16584.amd64fre.vista_gdr.071023-1545
    Flavor: Multiprocessor Free
    Architecture: X64
    LCID: 1033
