Vista's SuperFetch!!! Is it worth leave it on if I have 2GB system RAM????
-
Why dont you experiment and leave it off then tell us?
-
um, superfetch works best with a large amount of RAM. are you sure you don't mean readyboost?
-
Superfetch enchances application startup by monitoring the app;ications you use everyday, and preloads them into the memory at the specific time. Also, it does take up RAM to preload, but it will push them out if another application request memory. There'll be little noticeable difference so it's better to leave it on.

How do you use Superfetch, enable it, or get it?
-
Wait...is this already built in? I remember seeing it as a service which I was told to never turn off, always keep on automatic.

Go Vista services and see superfetch if you want to disable it -

Disabling it, will reduce your disk thrashing at startup (because it is not caching programs into memory), but at the same time you will be disabling the latest memory management function of Vista.
I suggest you leave it on. Let it do its thing and when you want to turn off your notebook, just use the sleep function instead. It will still use a little power (very little), but you will avoid a new Superfetch startup process and your computer will be more or less instantly ready when you turn it on again. -
