I've googled but haven't really found anything helpful bout this. I've Vista SP1, HP dv6500z. Windows Live Messenger seems to always hang after it wakes up from hibernation or sleep. Anyone had this before and have any solution to it?

This is an old thread but i've just found it via Googling for the same problem.
I've just disabled asking for a password on resuming from sleep mode and now msn doesnt appear to be locking up....give it a try!
Disabled the password in the Control panel -> power options -> Require a password on startup...if the option is greyed out hit "change settings that are currently unavailable" at the top.
