I need to access a file by taking this path:

    C:\Documents and Settings\<Windows login>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<one folder>

The thing is, even with hidden folders turned on, I can't find it in Vista. Please advise. Thank you.

In Vista, look in the C:\Users directory.

    Believe me, I tried Users.

I find Local and Roaming directories. But, other than a few empty folders, there are no other program files besides windows and microsoft, and they contain no data for any other programs such as Mozilla.

Firefox profiles are located in C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

Finally got it! Thanks for the help. Now I just can't get my editor to do what I want it to do.

    http://www.mozilla.org/editor/midasdemo/securityprefs.html

I added the .js text file in what I believe is the right place and I still can't use the editor to right-click to copy and paste. I can use the Control button, but in my experience with three HP laptops, the keyspads are the first things to go. Plus I prefer to right click.

    Anyone know anything about this?

    Thanks again.

Make sure you created a .js file, and not a .txt file. To see the file extension, open up My Computer, click Organize, then select Folder and Search Options. Switch to the View tab and deselect Hide extensions for known file types.

Thank you. I did make a .txt file instead of a .js file but it's now fixed.

Only thing, now I can't get the editor to work. I give up. I've wasted so much time on this.

Does that procedure work for your version of Firefox?

It doesn't, but I have no idea if I've done something wrong. I converted it into a .js file and put it into the directory per the instructions. Nada.

Maybe I put the wrong path in the file (text file attached). I put the path to the actual editor at my site.

    Any suggestions?

Thank you everyone for your help.

I meant if those procedures are designed for your particular version of Firefox, as in those are for FF2, but you are using FF3.

Hmmm, the browser did update a few weeks ago but the About section still says I'm using version 2. I'm stumped.
