Hi.
I received my 4GB 2x2GB memory upgrade from crucial this morning,i installed it and ran memtest86+ v2.01, 1 pass completed without error.
So i decided to boot into Vista, everything fine, I ran Vista memory test, No errors, So i breather a sigh of relief.
So i restarted again and i got a "blue screen of death" and a reset, I tried to boot into vista again, no good, I decided to do a search on google for the error message.
"STOP 0x0000003B SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION nv1ddmkm.sys"
It tuns out that "nv1ddmkm.sys" is a NVIDIA file.
So i ran Vista repair from the DVD and got into Vista, I restarted and got the same BSOD, I booted in safemode, no good, I uninstalled 175.51 and installed a standard vga driver, So i ran Vista repair from the DVD and got into Vista Again, And Unistalled 175.51 and installed the standard vga driver and restarted the computer.
And the computer booted into vista fine, I tried this a few more time, and then re-installed 175.52, I have done 6-7 re-boots and everything seem fine.
Strange how upgrading from 2GB to 4GB caused this problem, or is this just a coincidence
I remember that microsoft had said that most of vista errors from were caused by NVIDIA driver.
All seems fine now, I just thought i would let you hear my story.
Regards
PS. I received my memory from Crucial next day, great service, especially as the postage was free
John.
