Ok I get an error whenever I try to install visual studio with my 1.4Ghz Core 2 duo laptop, which is dumb because it installed on my 1.6Ghz Atom netbook before. Does anyone else get this error or has successfully installed VS 2008 on a < 1.6 Ghz notebook? Because if they are going by clockspeed to judge performance, that's obviously a good indicator..

And what error code and message that you got?

i have it running on a core2duo 1.2ghz without problems. performance should not be the problem. it should generate logfiles with the error in.

Here is the error log:
[04/16/09,13:24:33] Runtime Pre-requisites: [2] Error: Installation failed for component Runtime Pre-requisites. MSI returned error code 1603
I'm running it under Windows 7 -
Get your Windows 7 as up to date as possible. This error MSI 1603 is common with installer package when .NET is out of whack.
Also, is UAC still ON? If not, turn it back on.
cheers ...
