Does anyone know whether an application which changes the volume output automatically according to the device plugged in? I want the volume to be turned down when I plug my ear/headphones into the headphone jack, and I want it to restore itself when I remove it.

Personally I doubt it, my guess is it's a hardware switch that turns off the speakers when headphones are plugged in, and windows doesn't even know that headphones are being used.

    But I might be wrong.
