Hi guys. I have Windows 10 64-bit OS on my MSI GT75 Titan Laptop. Anyway, have been wanting to get the Feature Update, version 2004. I have been pressing the "Check for updates" button, and everything is up to date I think. On that same screen where I check for Windows Updates, it says that the 2004 Feature Update is on way, but my device isn't quite ready. What do I need to do to get it? Help and thoughts are greatly appreciated :)

I have the same, even though I know some other Area 51m's have received it. I'm not overly fussed at the minute with some of the issues that have been reported but will at some point upgrade.

Here you go, manually force the update:

Tip, ensure you update your drivers before you attempt the upgrade:

Thank you so much for the help and info. Um, is it safe to force the update? Or, should I just wait it out?

    It's safe.

Also, if for any reason the update which is usually done online fail. If you create a USB Installer of the latest Windows 10 Media Creation Tool, then while the USB stick is plugged in after it has been created, simply running setup.exe from that USB stick will run the update offline from the USB stick and it will work.

Ok. Thanks so much! If I go the USB Installer route, how much room on USB do I need? Right now, I only have a USB Flash Drive that is only 8GB.

4GB + is what you need so you're good.

Hi again guys. I have not yet did the update, worried about some of the bugs/issues. Have any of you guys had a good experience with this update? I mean, should I go ahead and update, or should I wait until Windows says my computer/laptop is ready? Thoughts appreciated :)

you know what Omega83, perhaps you should wait until after July 14 or August 11 to upgrade as MS could fix some of the current bugs/problems with 2004 by either of those dates

Hold off as long you can. Microsoft won’t even let it install on own designed hardware.

OneDrive is preventing some users from upgrading to Windows 10 version 2004

What to do if you are affected
    1. Uninstall OneDrive. Open Settings > Apps > Apps and features.
    2. Find Microsoft OneDrive in the list of the installed apps on the right.
    3. Click on the Uninstall button.[IMG]
    4. This will remove OneDrive from your current Windows version.
    5. Upgrade your Windows to Windows 10 version 2004.
    6. Install OneDrive. You can download the official client software from Microsoft.
    You are done!

I have not the need for OneDrive because when I did use it, it created albums of all my cats and made memories  I don't want anything messing with my private files. Oh and also, it's one of the biggest battery hogs on a smartphone.

Consider it a blessing, folks. "You really, really don’t want Win10 version 2004 until Microsoft’s worked out the major bugs".

And the Win10 version 2004 upgrade blocks just keep comin’ askwoody.com | Today
