    W7 Lagging On Me

    Alright so it appears that I have encountered a major issue with Windows 7. I just booted up my system this morning and everything appears to be lagging. I can't even play a music file because it will start to skip. I seem to have little to no HDD activity yet this is still occurring. Also when minimizing and maximizing windows I get the same lagging effect.

    CPU usage is fine, I have more than enough RAM, and I don't have a virus. Any ideas?

    Yes this happened to me the first time I booted after re-installing Windows 7. Installing the Intel Chipset Drivers and the Intel Matrix Storage Driver, then the rest of the drivers solved the issue after a reboot.

    Windows 7 64-bit lags sometimes immediately after start up in my laptop. I am also getting random windows explorer not responding messages.

    You are missing It sounds you are missing motherboard drivers or GPU drivers. Make sure you have the latest version for both of these drivers, look at the chipset and GPU manufacture web site to grab the latest drivers.

    I rebooted the system and all is fine. I will check for updated drivers from Asus, weird issue though.

    Try and look directly at the manufacture for each device. In other words, see ATI, Nvidia or Intel (depending on what you have) for the graphic card driver, and the same for everything else (motherboard, wireless card, and so on), ASUS (like about every other OEM's, including Windows Update, might now have the latest drivers publish.
