In a few weeks I should get the W7 upgrade CD from Microsoft. I will not be doing a clean install.

If, after the upgrade and for any reason I lose the W7 OS, can the CD from Microsoft be used to reload W7.

    Thanks

You should be able to just retrieve the OEM Key with magic jelly finder and backup the OEM certificate.

In another word, you want to know if the upgrade disk can be used for a clean installation?

Check out the sticky in W7 sub-section, it should have all answers to all scenarios of upgrading and installing with an "upgrade" disk.

    cheers ...
