Is it possible to copy the themes from Windows7 resources and paste them in Vista's resources and make Vista look like W7. I tried with Tuneup Utilities some third party themes and I didn't like them. If any of you have tried this method please let me know the proper way to get it done. thanks. BTW, I am dual booting W7 and Vista in my Laptop.

i like to do it the other way. i hate the new taskbar and it's behaviour

Give it just a little bit more time, W7 "looking" pack will come out soon. I would not bother with the current RC version.
cheers ... -
Ditto.
I did modify one of the W7 for Vista themes though, I much prefer the flat taskbar to the Vista one. -
You can set it to not combine you know.

I haven't used any of these possible programs, however. Plus, using these transformation packs typically increases resource consumption by quite a bit. Oh, and they can hose your system. -

it doesn't fix the new taskbar for me. my problems are much different. i've stated them quite some times. -
I downloaded a W7 transformation pack. What I got when installing it is VIRUSES! OMG! My Avira Antivir Personal 9 detected them(move to vault). I straight terminate the installation after that.
If UAC is turned on, I would block the installation too. It changes the system32 files(trigger UAC).
On the other word, be careful on these transformation packs. -
Care to share the link where you "almost" got the virus for us to be warned?
cheers ... -
dunno whether am helpin or not..but few weeks/days back i saw this thread talkin abt some small apps..including "ViGlance OneStep.exe" it atleast made my work pc/XP look a lill' like W7..

i think all transformation packs worth something changes system32 files. they just have to, to tweak the system. but yeah, they are virus-filled crap quite often.
for anyone wanting win7, just get it
i'll get it for the media center, most likely. the new media center they have in should rock, as far as i've read. the mediacenter arrives next week, we'll see

I know they have to. But sometime they might screw-up the system.
I experienced once before.
If you have System Restore Point(which is healthy), then no worries. If like myself(turned off System Restore), I would think twice. Human Brain UAC. LOL. -
Thank you all for your suggestions and help, I found third party programs break my settings and I don't like them. I just wanted to try W7 look on vista but I have no intention of keeping it permanently.
