Ok, so I had Intel HD 3000 driver ver. 2622 installed. Windows update tells me that a newer driver (ver. 2653) is available, so I clicked yes. Normally I always use drivers from intel website.
anyway, installed the driver and my WEI gaming score went from 6.2 to 4.7. Now, I'm used to fluctuating WEI scores after updates and such, but this example is crazy.
Is it worth keeping the newer driver even though it lowered my score like crazy?
P.S I don't game.

It's a good thing the WEI counts for practically nothing in terms of actual performance..
I wouldn't worry about it at all. In fact run it again and see if it stays the same.. -
I did the test again, now it's back at 6,2
But thanks
-
my windows experience index is 4.7 only with lowest sub score in graphic experience.
What shud i do to get it to 5.9????! -
either ignore it or buy a faster laptop.
it means nothing and is pointless even checking it. -
WEI doesn't affect for performance whatsoever. But here if you want lots of e-rep and 5.9's across the board: Artificially Raise Your Windows Experience Index - Modify WEI
-
The WEI should just average out all of your scores instead of going by the lowest score. I seen PC's with lower WEI scores out perform PC's with a higher WEI because they just go by the lowest score. WEI is pointless anyway but you still have the run the stupid thing after updating a video driver or it will just decide to run whenever it fells like it until is gets its useless score.
-
Which is why I never bother running WEI in the first place.

StormJumper Notebook Virtuoso
It will come into play if you use Aero features without getting a high WEI your Aero feature will not work or turn on. So there is a reason for running WEI but as for gaming the GPU matters the most and enough RAM helps.... -
ok,guys...
WEI score from 6.2 to 4.7 after update!
